I love Piers Anthony (I've been reading Xanth since I was a kid), but I wouldn't recommend this to the average fan. After reading other reviews I thought Pornucopia would be a more "adult" adventure with lots of humor, but it let me down. It was just... gross. That being said, I still have it proudly displayed on my book shelf and I would rather have read it than not, just don't expect too much.

I generally LOVE Piers Anthony but this was WAY over the top. I knew with a name like "Pornucopia" it wouldn't be for kids, but this was just silly, and not in a good way. It's reads like a personal fantasy book written by a 16 year old boy who is uncertain about his sexuality.
This is one of Piers Anthony's really kinky stories; it is not for everyone but it is special in may ways. If you like strange SciFi, puns, very adult humor and exposure to the kinkiest of kink; you should try this book.
Did not like, quit reading and deleted it from my account. My own fault, shouldn’t have relied on name recognition and assumed it targeted the same audience as his Xanth series.
I grew up reading Anthony. Just happened upon this one and this is definitely not the Anthony I grew up with! Same great imagery and humor and grossly inappropriate verging on disturbing. A great, cringe inducing read.
Piers Anthony. 'nuff said. It's not porn, it's a very graphic novel without the art/drawing. Ok, it's porn. Wait - not really, the descriptions are very detailed, almost clinical... but what do I know, I've only been reading Piers Anthony for 20 years...

Well I finished this one this morning. I am hesitant to write any kind of review for fear it would sound like pornography. There is very little I can say about this book without getting into details and that is something that I just can't do. Suffice it to say that it is fantasy, erotica at the highest level and definately NOT for everyone. It gets quite weird in most of the book. Things happen quickly and there is a tendency to almost lose track of what you are reading. The basic premise (although toned down drastically by me) is that a man meets a succubus/Incubus on a beach. He is constantly thinking about his private area and how small it is. The succubus brings him to a kind of Dr. who performs surgery on him while he is drugged. It all spirals from there. We have people laying a type of demon egg and we have a Mountain of Ice cream. I am sorry but this book was just too weird and out there for words. The writing style was good, it fit the book, it is just the story was well . . . WAY out there with a huge amount of sex not normal sex - WEIRD sex. The author explains at the end of the book the many trials he went through to get this published. Most publishing houses wouldn't touch it. I understand why.
For any guy that worries that a succubus will come and steal his junk.

Piers Anthony has come a long way from pie tree's, but after "The color of her panties", I knew this was inevitable.

I absolutely loved this book. It's a light read, and very funny. You can tell that Mr. Anthony had some naughty fun writing this book. He was my favorite author as a teen and continues to be my favorite, even at 36.
