The author has taken us on a delightful, heart warming journey as we join Megan as she traces her ancestor Isabel. I can relate to her experiences and feelings as she meets new people and deals with her children's reactions to her choices. Most of all I love the way life's synchronicities are woven into the story. Life is like that. One step leads to another; one piece of the puzzle unfolds the direction to take to discover the other. Totally captivating and believable characters and events. I must now buy the hard cover to share with my friends and family. I recommend this as a book club read. I'm sure it will be well received.

I found this book an extremely enjoyable read. Vicky Adin draws the reader in from the beginning of the book and keeps up the suspense throughout. She manages to hold the reader's attention throughout, an ability only excellent authors develop. I found this book excellently well written and I will certainly be on the lookout for any future books from this New Zealand writer.
A grieving woman's life was changed when she got a package from a lawyer one year after her husband's death. Finding the truth about her ancestor opened a whole new world for her.
A wonderful story, a real page turner, which leads the reader through all the twists and turns of a well constructed plot. I loved the insightful descriptions of family relationships, the fully realised characters and the various locations in which the action takes place, already familiar to me from my Cornish childhood and later travels. Seldom have I read such a poignant and faithful account of the effects of bereavement. I can't wait to read more in the Pastfinder series.
A really great book. I have been doing family history for quite a few years. This book was informative plus a really great story. I am now reading her book "Daniel". She is a really great author.
I enjoyed this story even though it was not quite what I expected. It was a family history mystery but not a typical cozy murder mystery which for some reason was what I was expecting. To use the words of another reviewer, it is a story about family relationships and bereavement both in the present and in the past.
I love time shift stories with a mystery at their heart and this one is up there with the best. Megan's story is absorbing and her challenging relationship with her daughter Sarah is honest and convincing. The mysterious package from Cornwall and the story that unfolds had me eagerly turning the pages. The alternating Cornwall, Italy and New Zealand settings were well described and real. I liked the way Vicky portrays the good and bad in the personalities of her characters - it makes them interesting and well rounded. All and all a great read.
I have to admit I was taken back when I first started reading this because the opening scene was of a woman in mourning for her husband on the anniversary of his death. I wasn't expecting it as I was reading to get my mind off the anniversary of my husband's death. I almost put the book down but I am so glad that I didn't. I very much enjoyed the journey Meagan takes to find her ancestor, to find herself.
