Guardian of Darkness Darkness Series Book 7 edition by Katie Reus Romance eBooks
Stavros pack princess Vega is a unique individual. She’s half shifter, half vampire, with very powerful parents and friends. But she doesn’t want to be locked in a protective bubble forever. When she’s tapped for undercover work, she feels she’s finally found her calling. Except for one small snafu. Her longtime crush who also happens to be her father’s Guardian, Gabriel. After a forced vision of his future showing his mate dying, Gabriel tried to change his fate by leaving his pack and joining the Stavros pack. All was well until Vega and her mother show up (Darkness Awakened) and throw his plans awry. Now Vega is all grown up, and Gabriel is finding it harder and harder to deny himself the one thing he’s ever truly wanted.
Guardian was a fairly fast-paced read. I loved the twists with Vega’s case and her team, Gabriel’s inadvertent family reunion, and updated progress on Finn and Lyra (Vega’s parents) relationship. I also liked the sexy tension between Vega and Gabriel. My only complaint would be with everything else going on, I felt like the relationship was squeezed in and rushed through. I was hoping for just a smidge more focus on Vega and Gabriel relationship. Otherwise, I found the story highly entertaining and I hope to see more entries in the future.

Guardian of Darkness Darkness Series Book 7 edition by Katie Reus Romance eBooks Reviews
Vega's first secret mission with the US Supernatural Black Ops Division was fraught battling a psychic, raping wolf , Carlson who was Gabriel's cousin, and closing another Hell Gate next to hibernating Prima the Dragon.
Great plot and characters, with a theme of living life to one's max! Must Read!!

Shifters? I have read ALL of Katie Reus Romantic Suspense novels and kept passing this series up. I like paranormal but these sounded a like too many different types of shifters. THINK AGAIN. This story was fantastic! I couldn't put it down from start to finish. Creative and inventive, with characters who get under your skin and into your head. I have to read them all now. Time to shop on .
I have loved every entry into this series and Guardian of Darkness was no exception. I was a little unsure about Vega when I found out this was her book, mostly because all I remembered of her was her being rather bratty or childish (due to her age throughout the previous books). But I loved the woman she has turned into, and also loved seeing her and Gabriel get their HEA. This was a great addition to this series and I definitely recommend it to fans of this series and for paranormal romance fans.
I have been waiting for this story since book 2!
I just knew Vega and Gabriel would get together. I didn't realize the back story, but I knew they were meant to be.
Vega is now a black ops agent on assignment in Gabriel's old territory. He doesn't like it, but instead of going against her, he helps her. One thing leads to another and there's no hiding how they feel anymore.
Kinda surprised where Katie took this story. I thought the Black ops angle was so random for these two, having read the rest of the series. I was super excited for this book but just wasn't into this storyline. I thought there would be more tension with respect to Vega's parents since they're best friends but that doesn't really factor in, and I thought it would've been a stronger plot point than this whole vision thing that serves as the romantic hurdle. I was in love with the first few books of this series but it seems to be dwindling now.
The first third of the book started out slower than the previous books in this series. I found it didn’t hold my attention as well and it just seemed to take longer to really get started. I shouldn’t have worried though because I was thrilled with the remainder of the story and loved the ending.
After having a vision of Vega dying in his arms, Gabriel did the honorable thing by keeping his distance for the last five years never allowing the attraction between them to become more. He did what he thought was best but hurt them both in the process. When Vega starts acting secretive, the pack's Alpha and her dad Finn sends Gabriel after her to make certain she is safe.
I loved both Gabriel and Vega. He’s always been a great guy and I was glad that Vega is the one selected to be his mate. With Vega being a hybrid vampire/wolf shifter, she’s strong enough for the wolf pack’s Guardian.
I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series has in store for us.
I am at 75% right now, I will skim through the rest but this story is NOT holding my attention. I got bored about 50% of the book. Where is all the possessiveness and alpha-ness we have come to enjoy in this series? Gabriel had a vision of Vega (his future mate) dying in his arms in his old pack's territory. As a resolution, he decides to stay away from her and never mate her. That doesn't jive with an alpha male and a woman who is meant to be his mate. Why not just mate her and make sure to never enter his old alpha's territory or definitely try to change the vision? Giving your mate up when their are so many who would relish the chance, is crazy. That connection should not be easily dismissed. It's 70% of the book and their relationship is still the same . . . no commitment, no sex, no progress . . . just friends trying not to be more. The plot is centered on a traitor in the mist of shifters. I will skim through the end but this is my least favorite of the series. I do not feel the connection with the two main characters. Vega's story should have been off the charts, possibly with an alpha who wouldn't let who her parents are, deter him from his mate. One who has to prove he is worthy of her in strength and determination. I can barely remember Gabriel in the past stories.
